The Wild Rocking P is a conservation managed property, the white-tailed bucks are magnificent and the blackbuck population has grown significantly.  We've got opportunities for hunting in the preserve and across the ranch.  Our guides will develop a custom adventure for you and the other hunters in your group.  Enjoy turkey, dove and duck hunting, we've got those too.  You'll need a Texas Hunting License to hunt and licenses have never been easier to secure, click here to get your license.  To help plan your wild adventure, read our guidelines for safe hunting to learn more about requirements and what game is in season.

Family Retreats

Based on the best selling book by John and Stasi Eldredge, 3-days with nature, unplugged, on the ranch can start or reinforce the journey for young women.  A young woman's soul cries out for more than Cinderella, tea parties and "likes".  The Wild Rocking P is the place where she can learn; "The woman God made when he made Eve...and when he made you. Glorious, Powerful and Captivating." 

Wild at Heart was written by John Eldredge, it was one of three books that transformed our raising of sons, we also recommend Raising a Modern Day Knight and Bringing up Boys.  The Wild Rocking P experience is designed to be another great step on the journey to manhood.  ​

Single parents also enjoy the action the outdoors provides.  The Wild Rocking P is a great place for grandparents, uncles and aunts to spend quality time with younger family members, imparting lessons for life.  We've also hosted biblically based retreats for small groups, setting up outdoor activities that help create lasting bonds and deeper understanding.  

Can your family survive in the wild?  Learn some basic survival skills; build a shelter from the materials available, start a fire with one match or none, track game, or navigate without your smartphone.  Your 5-year old can learn, so can you.

A retreat for women or men

The bunkhouse is the place where it all starts and since the only wall is for the full bath, just the guys or just the gals.  Since the bunkhouse has a full kitchen and sleeps 4, 5 with the cot, it makes a great place for a small group to unplug and get away.  Our guides will help you design and deliver activities that bring you closer to nature and build bonds that can last a life time.

Not everyone hunts with a Winchester or Remington.  Some prefer Canons and Nikons to capture the wild and bring it back to their homes and offices.  The pecan grove at sunrise is mystical.  There is nothing more rewarding than crawling across a field to capture that one-in-a-million frontal shot of a majestic 12-point buck or a blackbuck ewe and her new baby at sunset.  Hill country lighting is spectacular, all year long.  Want to photograph the milky way, it's visible most nights.

Rancher's Apprentice 

Ranching is hard work that is extremely rewarding.  One of the best teachers is experience, we don't do youth apprenticeships very often in today's world.  If you've got a youth with a hankerin' for ranch life, we've got a program that will challenge young ranchers.  Most hit the hay by 8:pm every night.
