Why 6.5mm Minimum for Trophy Hunts?
We expect and require humane harvesting. Years of experience and a fair amount of research have led us to this requirement. You can download our research, click here. While not complete and exhaustive the research supports our experience. Don't see your rifle and round on here? Send us a note with the manufacturer's name, bullet type, grain weight and 100 yard velocity, we'll do the calculation for you.
What About Game Birds?
Read the manufacture's box based on the gauge of your gun.
Or go with the standards for Turkey, 4, 5 or 6.
Ducks, steel 3 and 4 work best, no lead please.
Doves, 7, 7 1/2 or 8 work well.

What's in Season?
Mills County has a rich history of welcoming hunters. Whitetail populations are abundant most years and bucks can be breathtaking. There's water and crops for turkeys, ducks and doves to make a home here too. Perhaps because Mills County is the meat goat capital of the world, coyotes and bobcats and other predators are harshly discouraged from inhabiting the county and that allows game to flourish.
